so that was Christmas and this is break. i like it.

just how can it be Decemeber 30th?? it was just Christmas like...5 days ago. And 2012 is literally right around the corner. well, I had a pretty great Christmas and this week has been pretty nice as well{aside from physically feeling crummy most of the time}. A break from babysitting kids(except for 2 days), school and the regular daily routine.
 lets start with Christmas :)
the day consisted of church, breakfast muffins, opening gifts, cinnamon rolls, spending the evening with friends, playing the wii and taking naps. oh and NO SNOW[just fyi]. at the end of the day this is how i summed it up-- (from my twitter)
today was one of the best days ive had in a while. despite physically feeling bad i was happy :) i'm so blessed by my God, family & friends!

It was SO fun to watch my family open their gifts especially my siblings. my sister freaked out when she opened her Jamie Grace CD I got her. freaked out i tell ya. ;)

I got some pretty cool things too! here are a few of them.

one of my favorites are...these boots.

an armband for my ipod & The Dark Knight and RV movies from my dad. :)
yum.
as for this week-- I've been fighting a really bad headache. we're not sure the cause of it {like most of the time} and it will get really painful then will lessen up and so forth. its very frustrating to say the least. so that had taken a toll on my enjoying this break :3 a good thing is that I can rest and not do anything because I feel so bad and not feel guilty about not getting school done! haha ;)
The week has been spent relaxing, playing the Wii, lots of movie watching, ignoring the book that I really should be reading for school and other things like that ;)

Speaking of movies, in the past week and a half my dad and I have watched the first 3 Pirates of the Caribbean movies. It was my first time seeing them and I really like them.  the first and second ones are my favorites. [the 1st one might very well rank as an all time favorite. whoa.]the third one wasn't as good in my opinion compared to the others.

yep.
and the music scores are so awesome. I love 'em. I've had "Singapore" stuck in my head. mmhmm.

on Wednesday my friend and I went on a spontaneous trip to the movies to see We Bought a Zoo.

It was really cute and a feel good movie. at times i was like okay where in the world is the plot to this movie and where are we going?? but I didn't think about it too hard ;) it was a good pick me up after a bad morning. :) plus, I love going to the theater. with friends.

now its friday. and i've spent the morning first watching Some little house on the prairie with my sister and then on the computer. I'm gonna go spend more time on the computer and later go do something useful ;)

what have you been up to this past week? :)

Thor

Thor.
[yes i know that photo above is huge. it was either large-- doesn't even hold a candle to the bold font Thor title or extra large-- where its very clear to see and represented Thor very well. i went the choice B]

so here's the little story behind why i went to see it-- So I hadn't gotten into any "superhero" movies until a few months ago. My friend Sarahlynn had watched it and she said it was really good and I had to see it. because if she likes it, I like it ;) Haha okay maybe not exactly like that ;) Anywho, I looked it up on PluggedIn online just for kicks and they also said it was worth seeing. I was talking to my mom about it and my dad overheard and said "really?! you'd like to see Thor? its a superhero movie" and I was like "yeah I would!" so he said "ok we'll go see it!". We don't go to see movies very often and when we do its a treat :) i was so excited because some of my friends on twitter/blogging had seen it and said "oh its sooo good!" and such. so my dad and i got some sweets and got cozy in our seats and sat back and watched Thor. and it was soooo good. the story was good. the plot was interesting and the action, exciting. funny. clean. all around awesome-ness.
you could say it was my first "superhero" movie and i liked it. and my dad was excited that i liked it :) and since then we have watched The Incredible Hulk, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. :)

and i might add, I got to watch it twice in theaters. oh yes. once with my dad and then again with my friend, her sister and mom. twice the fun.

back to Thor. like in my post on Tangled, I'm not going to go into the plot and storyline of it and I'm just going to do some pictures and my thoughts :)

the actors did a great job portraying the characters. really great job.

just to get this out of the way--the gate keeper. enough said.

Jane--i loved her character. she is strong and determined. and her and Thor's relationship is awkward at first but downright sweet.

Darcy-- her character didn't have a very big role but the little comments and actions she did made the movie. so funny. if you've seen the movie you know what i mean ;) Like when she tased him?! hilarious.

[after the SHIELDS Agents have taken all her equipment]
Jane Foster: Years of research. Gone.
Darcy Lewis: They even took my iPod.
Erik Selvig: What about the backups?
Jane Foster: They took our backups. They took the backups of our backups. They were extremely thorough.
Darcy Lewis: Just downloaded like thirty songs onto there.
Jane Foster: Could you please, stop with your iPod!

Warriors of Asgard. Thor's friends.

the father was so like-able. a wise, noble king.

Loki-- the perfect evil guy for the movie. even though Thor pounded him. he was great, in a villain-y way of course. i thought his story of being one of the blue people{what are they called?} was really interesting and made his character intriguing. and the green color fits him.

last but definitely not least, Thor. love him as a super dude. he's huge. love his character. the whole hammer and thunder thing? awesome. yes he has his faults. he's hot headed and stubborn(kinda like me. haha ;) but he learns and it kinda comes in handy in the end. But one of my favorite things about him is that he is such a gentleman. so respectful. {I can't say that for many guys in movies these days which is sad}  and he's not too bad on the eyes{i stole this quote from Lauren. because she is awesome with words.}  just sayin'. ;)

Thor to Jane- "The answers you seek shall be yours, once I claim what is mine."

viewing wise, the movie was directed wonderfully, the location, visuals, colors etc. are really great.

his armor? sah-weet.

for good measure: ;)

2 of my favorite scenes:

when he's at the compound going after his hammer. goodness gracious.

I mean seriously, how sweet is this?! (this goes with the whole gentleman thing)

Thor to Jane- "I will return"

I love how the end wasn't perfect. the guy didn't get to be with his lady for forever and and ever and such. But it was satisfying. it was a perfect not no perfect ending.

this is a clean, epic, fun and all around good movie. go watch it. I think I'm going to have to buy it.

if you've seen it, what are you thoughts? :)

p.s. if you have seen this movie check out Polka Dot's review on it here. it will make ya smile :)

Don't get upset, sometimes my brain says no but my heart says yes :)

 {I started this post this morning but got distracted until now, details below}

hey all! I don't have a certain topic for this post and I have some random things I wanna post about :)  (and i bet you're thinking ok Samarah aren't all your posts random?! well if you think they are deal with it ;)

First of all my family and I have the allergy ick :( My sis Bethany is the worst, she is coughing and coughing and coughing. I am really tired and spent most of the day sleeping or watching something with Bethany or on my itouch. so basically its been a low key day ;] Also I'm really looking forward to tonight and the weekend because my dad is off after working 12 straight days! Praying we can relax and enjoy the nice weather (we are supposed to have) and be refueled and recharged for the coming week :)

ok onto the other miscellaneous things...

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is releasing on DVD, Blu-Ray and whatever else tomorrow! (I think, I know its sometime! ha ;) I'm hoping they have a collector's edition with 3 discs!! (1-movie, 2-special features and 3-digital copy) really hoping! :) I own the 2 other Narnia movies and this one is amazing so I'm looking forward to adding this one to my collection :)

A week or so ago I had to come face to face with some startling facts. I had 468 unread emails in my inbox, I followed 466 blogs and 564 peoples on twitter. I know its shocking. the number of unread emails really got me because I used to never have just 1 or 2 unread emails in my inbox for a day! I'm not sure what happened there. and then 466 blogs?! seriously, I'm blog happy or something. I was getting overwhelmed when I went to my blogger dashboard because they were SO many new posts and I don't have time to read each one. Don't get my wrong I love blogging and blogs but almost 500 blogs to keep up with?! I don't think so. As for the 564 tweeps I just like clicking the Follow button. I don't have an genuine interest in everyone I follow and I don't like that. To be honest sometimes I just follow people to rack up the numbers or just to say I follow that person, that applies to blogger too. so this is my project this weekend:

  • Go through ALL the emails in my gmail account and only keep ones are from a friend or something and they are special or important. All the others are going to be deleted forever.
  • Go through the list of people I follow on twitter and only follow people I'm genuinely interested in.
  • Go through all the blogs I follow and if I don't recognize the name or haven't read them in the last month or so out they go.
I don't have time to read tweets and blogs from people I don't really care about. I want to give my love and support to people who I want to give it to and who God wants me to give it to :)

here are some of my favorite pictures of  my Cupcake from the past week♥

she one of THE most gorgeous babies.ever.

These lashes are all natural!! her 4 y.o. sister, Muffins has eye lashes like this also. yes actresses out there, be jealous.

She turned 1 on March 24. she is growing and changing everyday.

my favorite!! I love this girl and her sister so much♥

This is song is awesome. It rocked my week. Don't you leave this blog until you give it a listen ;)

(ok so you hated it? well its your loss, ha ;)

I'm looking forward to watching this movie this weekend! I've read and heard so many good things about it. Didn't it win an award for movie of the year or something?? I don't keep up with stuff like that. anyways, it seems like it has a good plot and action and such and I think I'll like it :)  I'll let ya know what I think of it though! ;)

Alrighty well I'm off to start my project, hope you have a good weekend! :)

much love,
Samarah♥

P.S. I can't thank you all enough for following and commenting on my lil' blog! You all rock my world♥

happy birthday dad {and 3 other people! }

Actually there are 3 other people that we know whose birthdays are today. My Aunt S and Aunt A and then a friend.

Happy Birthday Aunt S and Aunt A!! I miss you both very much! much love ♥

This isn't going to be a long birthday post. just something short and sweet :] my dad is: a great man of God. loving husband. awesome dad. my hero and protector. hilarious.caring. smart. generous. wise. creative. lover of a great variety of music. (I get my great love of music from him). and much more but i don't have time to list them all :) he is the one person that can make me laugh when I'm in the worst mood. he is down right hilarious. loves to make jokes. I get my sense of humor (if i have any ;) from him. put him, my mom and i together and we can be pretty funny! A lot of people say I look like my dad and i believe 'em. sometimes dad does something or makes a facial expression and I say "oh my gosh! you look SO like me!" we are so alike its creepy ;] we both have a great love for history and music. we can go from Kj-52 and Skillet to Carrie Underwood and Brandon Heath. He has a great memory and has a lot of information stored up in his brain. He and I remember the oddest things, like what kind of car somebody drives or what shoes they were wearing. yeah weird, but i love it ;) We've had great times together and I know we will have many more! :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Day 9 & 10, new camera and new blogger :)

First of all, thank you SO much for all your sweet comments on my last post {really on the past few posts}!! you girls are so encouraging and sweet. love you all so much :)

sorry I'm a bit behind on the 28 day challenge. I was really feeling bad yesterday, I even had to stay home from Latin class. I think I've only missed 1 other day in the entire 2 years I've been taking Latin. Today I was exhausted. exhausted. I took two 1 hour naps. that's NOT like me. We even had 3 extra kids(almost 1, 3, and 5 y.o.) and I managed to sleep for 2 hours amidst the very loud little people. I still feel really weak and tired. I didn't get any school done :/ I really hope I'm not getting sick.

Day 9-A photo you took-
this is a hard one because I've taken like tons of photos :P I have lots of ones that I'm quite proud of that I took of my siblings and my "adopted" sisters but I can't post them on here because their faces are just too cute to share with the blogging world ;] So I'll choose another one (or 2 or 3)

none of these have been edited. straight out of the camera :)

I really love this one. my good friend's converse :) i really love the purple

ahh the lovely sight of spring!

took this on a hike. love God's creation

pure beauty
having a little fun ;)

Day 10: A photo of you taken over ten years ago.
I can't do this one or tomorrow's because I don't post pictures of myself (my face) on my blog. Maybe in the future but not now. I'm just too gorgeous, ya'll aren't ready for me yet ;] But for Day 11 I will post a picture of me but not showing my face.

Ok onto the exciting camera news!!! We(my family) are getting a new camera! the one we have now is really old and the zoom stinks. see?

We've gotten by with it and gotten some really good shots but its just time to look for a better one. One of the reasons we are getting I'll share with ya another time. so excited :) so be on the look out for that! anywho, I'm really pumped about the one we're getting because it has a super sweet zoom and stuff like that. I will be able to put off my efforts for a more "professional" camera because this one is sooo sweet.and the cost is really reasonable.  I really want to explore photography. I love beauty and photography can capture it. wanna see it??!! here its is....
 Nikon Coolpix L110

ain't she a beauty??

I'm really excited to get my lil' hands on it!! ;D And getting it means that I'll post a lot more pictures! :]

I want to welcome Stephanie, Emily's {Grace Like Rain}sister to the blogging world! Check out her blog, While I'm Waiting. She is super sweet and her blog posts are encouraging and inspiring! :)

hope you are having a good night and I don't know about you but I'm glad tomorrow is friday! oh yeah, its my dad's birthday! :D I'll be doing a special post for that ;)

much love,
♥Samarah

Superbowl and day 5- a moment I wish I could relive

ahhh.... the day is here! Superbowl!! as you know I'm rooting for the Packs *wink* I can't say for sure how this game will turn out. both the Packers and Steelers are great and talented teams. If the Packs win, I'll will be ecstatic and if they lose I'll still love 'em :) I will be happy either way it ends :)

I'm a bit bummed though because (1) my dad is working today :( but he will be home for the Superbowl. (2) on the way home I got a headache. which is really sad because i have been feeling so good! ugh... :( last night i felt so bad. i ate chocolate and watched little house on the prairie with my mom. yeah it was sad. I tweeted  last night "chocolate is a girl's best friend on nights like these". I was so blah, i don't even know why. but last night is over and I'm focusing on now. ;D and I'm excited because we are having some good friends over tonight and also the superbowl ;]

Ok here's day 5 of the 28 day challenge...
day 5- A moment you wish you could relive-
wow, this is a hard one. *think think think* well i had an amazing experience at the Make A Difference Tour. Gathering with hundreds of other people and lifting up our burdens to God and crying out our need for Him. Praising and singing songs of love and thankfulness. that is an amazing thing people. I felt such a change in my heart realizing that worshiping is so much than just songs or something you do at church. worship is a prayer and praise. acknowledging that He is Lord and praising Him for loving us SO much and giving us unending love, grace and mercy. Music is a beautiful way to express those thoughts and prayers. Music is truly the words of my soul ♥

Alrighty, well I'm outta here. gonna go help clean the house, make yummy food and put on my game face!

happy Superbowl Sunday everyone ♥

with love,
Samarah

Happy Anniversary Dad and Mom!

My parent's 16th wedding anniversary is today!

I can't even begin to express how much I love them or how blessed I am to have them. My mom is my best friend and my dad is my hero. sure we have our tiffs but its really hard to stay mad at them for a long time. Even though I don't understand why they are making me do something sometimes, I know they are doing it because they love me. We've had so many fun events and have gone through tough things too but we've drawn closer to Christ and each other. My dad makes sure that my sister, brother and I know that he loves us and there's is nothing that we could do that we make him stop loving us. I'm serious, his family comes first (after Christ) and he loves us to no end. He would do anything for us if we really needed it. He teaches us, plays with us, reads with us, helps us and loves us. He works so hard to keep us in a warm and safe house, food, school books and curriculum and have fun times. He teaches us about life, its trials, Christ and how to follow him and serve him with everything that we do and say. and my dad is one of the funniest dads out there, he loves to laugh.. Mom is so patient, kind, helpful, caring, loving, wise, and fun. I'm learning that she knows a lot and most of the time she is right. I've doubted her many times and in the end she is right. So I've learned not to doubt her ;) We laugh a lot. a lot. Mom and Dad are so funny and we've had and will have some pretty good times. My parents are definitely not perfect,I've seen them have hard times in their marriage but I've also seen them draw even closer to one another. Everyday I get another glimpse of just how amazing and wonderful they are.

They work hard to give us so much and I will cherish, thank God for them and love them forever.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
I love you!
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
Ephesians 4:2 New International Version

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
1 Peter 4:8 NIV

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13 NIV

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."
Ephesians 5:25 NIV

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
1 Cor. 13:4-8 NIV

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor. 13:13 NIV

the new narnia movie and Christmas music :)

I am very very excited because..... I'm going to go see The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!!

my dad is taking SarahLynn and I to see it tonight with some other dads and their daughters (aka my friends ;)
We are so excited! :D

The Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. I absolutely love everything about. Especially the music. here are some Christmas tunes I've been enjoying :)

BarlowGirl's Home for Christmas CD

seriously these girls have such wonderful hearts for Christ and gorgeous voices. My little sister loves listening to these songs :)
Here's one of my favorite Christmas songs ever. Carol of the Bells. Is there anyone else who totally loves this song?? BarlowGirl does such a beautiful job on this song :)

tobyMac's new Christmas single- Christmas This Year (feat. Leigh Nash). it has a catchy beat and I've had it stuck in my head ever since I first heard it :)  take 4 minutes and take a listen ;)

SarahLynn is leaving tomorrow :( while I'm very sad and will miss her, I've had a complete blast with her and I'm glad to return her back to her sweet family :) but we still have the rest of the day with her :) I'll be back sometime this weekend with lots of pictures from the past 2 weeks!

till then,
love.samarah
