thor and tumblr.

yep. I caved. I got a tumblr [titled the shadow proves the sunshine]. and i'm loving it. Yes its a bit addictive and yes its just one more thing to distract me from what I probably should be doing. but its fun and is a happy place. and life is short so why not get a tumblr? ;)
Also this has been a rough week for me. I'm having symptoms of not taking my headache medication anymore and its no fun at all :3  I've been having trouble sleeping, nasueous and dizzy and miserable headaches. although yesterday was a better day and I was feeling a little bit better which is good since i've felt sick since friday. Today I'm babysitting away from the house and I'm praying for energy and wellness. I'm hoping to get school done and then later tonight i want to crash on the couch and watch Thor{i've been waiting for it for a month+ from the library, yes i'm faithful. and it finally came in a few days ago and I was so excited. i need to own that movie. anyway...}

saturday musings.

hey all! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far :)
i'm glad to have some down time. this past week was full. lots of babysitting, (attempting to ;) do school, working out,etc. but its all good.

So on thursday night i decided to bring some changes to my blog. i tried to make it a bit fall-ish. i made a new header, changed some colors/fonts and got rid of some things on the sidebar. what do you think? and before you ask, no that's not me in photo in the header. i wish it was. BUT actually i've been wanting dreadlocks for a while now and so my mom and i are gonna check around and see if we can find someone who can do it :) i'm excited about it. my hair is so tough to deal with and i wanted something new and different. anyway. :)

my sister had her last soccer game this morning. her team did well this year and i think they had fun :)
her game was at 10am and we were there around 9:30ish, the sunlight was so lovely and everything was pretty wet from the dew so I got these photos :)

and tonight I'm getting together with my friend and watch Soul Surfer! neither of us has seen it so we are excited :)

I need a hand to help me find my way back home.

hey peoples! so sorry its taken me a week and a half to post again :( A few days after my last post a sinus infection took me under. and i tried everything...tea, steam. Vicks, sinus pills etc. and it refused to leave. and yesterday i was just so miserable. overwhelming headache. and i was so clogged up. i can't remember the last time i've felt so bad. I was exhausted. thankfully we didn't have to babysit any kids so i was able to sleep. I didn't even go to soccer practice because i was feeling that bad. SO today i went to the dr. and she said its a sinus infection and she gave me some nasal "mist" (I have had a bad experience with things being squirted up my nose but the "mist" is much better) and some antibiotic. I won't get the medicine until tomorrow but i've already done the mist and i'm feeling a tad better. now its mostly the HEADACHE. goodness gracious. it makes me so sick and in pain and tired. bleh. the dr. also gave us the number for a allergy specialist(?) because a sinus infection can be an allergic reaction to something. so we'll see.

also, goodbye summer. school is here. summer went by fast didn't it? or maybe that's just me? This week we started 2 subjects, Algebra and Geography for me. I love being homeschooled and that we can just ease into it. it makes it less painful ;D  Have you started yet? are you jumping in full force or easing into it? :)


back to blogging....I'm going to write up some posts and schedule them for the rest of the week. I'm going to a Do Hard Things conference with my mom and some friends this weekend so i won't be blogging. but look for posts about  my thoughts about Thor and Inception and photos from our trip :)

and since a post isn't a post without music here's one for ya ;)

Life is beautiful. because Christ is beautiful and mighty and I'm so thankful that He gave me this life to live and glorify Him and love others. Ah, the gift of love is beautiful and fulfilling. I'm SO blessed to to have many people I can love and who love me.

Today I am celebrating life and beauty that God gives us :) 

Day 28: Hopes, Dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days-

I pray in the next year I would draw closer to Christ and serve and glorify Him in everything I do and say. That I would live my life out loud and love like crazy. To reach out to those who God puts in my life who are in need and that I would show mercy and compassion. 

I would be healthy and fit and would feel confident about myself. Continue to be gluten free {almost, just staying away from flours, breads, pasta etc.} and working out regularly. Find joy and strength through the pain. Do my school work will diligence and perseverance. 

And that I would take time and enjoy the everyday blessings and pleasures :)

Day 14: A vacation you would like to take. 

This one is easy. I've wanted to go here for a long time. I have a dream to travel the world and photography the beauty of those places. I'm not sure why but I love mountains. I love the majestic way they stand high about the ground, kind of like a fortress. it reminds me of how mighty is our God. He is our fortress :) anyway, I've always thought this place is just down right gorgeous. I would LOVE to go to New Zealand.

I think this is kinda cool because my blogger friend,  Jordan wants to go NZ too! and she wants to work for a travel magazine and go around the world and photograph it. read about it here. I see a vacation with her in the future ;)

Day 15: A person you admire. 

This one is pretty easy. I have so much admiration and respect for Mike Donehey. 

An incredible man of God, husband, father, friend and lead singer of one of my favorite bands, Tenth Avenue North. His insight on faith and life is amazing and inspiring and... *insert another good word* and he is funny. really funny. I've been so encouraged by TAN's songs countless times. I'm really at a loss of words to describe Mike and Tenth Avenue North, so go listen to their cds, watch their music videos, watch the behind the songs videos (click here to watch the video behind "You are More"), read some of his quotes and follow him on twitter ;]
