monday.

those are some shots from my monday so far. its gorgeous out...the air is off and windows open! its so sunny and breezy :) We are leaving this weekend to spend a week visiting family about 10 and 8 hours away so I'm slowly getting this together and ready for that and checking things off my To Do list. packing my clothes stress me out, anyone else? I can pack food, electronics and everything else fine but i'm always rechecking and making sure I have enough clothes and if I have that one favorite tank or have enough socks ;)
and that soup... Cheese Potato Broccoli soup to be exact. yum yum YUM.

one of the things on my To Do list is to take my little sister to go see Brave tomorrow! I'm so excited! She's only been to the theaters once before and I know she will be thrilled when I tell her plus I'm looking forward to seeing the movie too ;)

what are you up to on this monday? 

so that was Christmas and this is break. i like it.

just how can it be Decemeber 30th?? it was just Christmas like...5 days ago. And 2012 is literally right around the corner. well, I had a pretty great Christmas and this week has been pretty nice as well{aside from physically feeling crummy most of the time}. A break from babysitting kids(except for 2 days), school and the regular daily routine.
 lets start with Christmas :)
the day consisted of church, breakfast muffins, opening gifts, cinnamon rolls, spending the evening with friends, playing the wii and taking naps. oh and NO SNOW[just fyi]. at the end of the day this is how i summed it up-- (from my twitter)
 today was one of the best days ive had in a while. despite physically feeling bad i was happy :) i'm so blessed by my God, family & friends!

 It was SO fun to watch my family open their gifts especially my siblings. my sister freaked out when she opened her Jamie Grace CD I got her. freaked out i tell ya. ;)

I got some pretty cool things too! here are a few of them.

an armband for my ipod & The Dark Knight and RV movies from my dad. :)

as for this week-- I've been fighting a really bad headache. we're not sure the cause of it {like most of the time} and it will get really painful then will lessen up and so forth. its very frustrating to say the least. so that had taken a toll on my enjoying this break :3 a good thing is that I can rest and not do anything because I feel so bad and not feel guilty about not getting school done! haha ;)
The week has been spent relaxing, playing the Wii, lots of movie watching, ignoring the book that I really should be reading for school and other things like that ;)

Speaking of movies, in the past week and a half my dad and I have watched the first 3 Pirates of the Caribbean movies. It was my first time seeing them and I really like them.  the first and second ones are my favorites. [the 1st one might very well rank as an all time favorite. whoa.]the third one wasn't as good in my opinion compared to the others.

yep.

and the music scores are so awesome. I love 'em. I've had "Singapore" stuck in my head. mmhmm.

on Wednesday my friend and I went on a spontaneous trip to the movies to see We Bought a Zoo.

 

It was really cute and a feel good movie. at times i was like okay where in the world is the plot to this movie and where are we going?? but I didn't think about it too hard ;) it was a good pick me up after a bad morning. :) plus, I love going to the theater. with friends.

now its friday. and i've spent the morning first watching Some little house on the prairie with my sister and then on the computer. I'm gonna go spend more time on the computer and later go do something useful ;)

saturday musings.

hey all! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far :)
i'm glad to have some down time. this past week was full. lots of babysitting, (attempting to ;) do school, working out,etc. but its all good.

So on thursday night i decided to bring some changes to my blog. i tried to make it a bit fall-ish. i made a new header, changed some colors/fonts and got rid of some things on the sidebar. what do you think? and before you ask, no that's not me in photo in the header. i wish it was. BUT actually i've been wanting dreadlocks for a while now and so my mom and i are gonna check around and see if we can find someone who can do it :) i'm excited about it. my hair is so tough to deal with and i wanted something new and different. anyway. :)

my sister had her last soccer game this morning. her team did well this year and i think they had fun :)
her game was at 10am and we were there around 9:30ish, the sunlight was so lovely and everything was pretty wet from the dew so I got these photos :)

and tonight I'm getting together with my friend and watch Soul Surfer! neither of us has seen it so we are excited :)

i'm tangled.

 I'm not good at the whole explaining and reviewing the movie thing so this will be why I liked it, pictures, and some of my favorite quotes :) 

so a few weeks ago, i rented Tangled from Redbox because I was babysitting my little brother and sister and I'd heard good things about it and I thought it would be fun to have popcorn and watch it :) yes, yes I know I'm a great big sister. We aren't big fans of the whole princess, fairy tale movies but we loved Tangled. i loved it.

the characters were adorable. seriously.

Pascal. the cutest little thing ever.

it was so funny. all 3 of us would burst out laughing at the comical parts.

Okay, on to Flynn. His clothes are cool, except for his boots. they are awesome. and he is hilarious.

it was clean. I didn't feel like I had to have my finger on the stop button awaiting for someone to say something or do something. it was a relief :) There ARE still some decent movies being made :)

The ending is perfect but I don't want to give anything away so i won't say anything about it. :)

2 bithdays and mother's day! {late}

I know I'm late posting about these events but I did celebrate them but I didn't get around to posting about them. well I'm here now, posting about the 2 birthdays and mother's day. its all good :)

On April 27th my not so little sister turned 9 years old! We celebrated her birthday with cherry delight pie and I Love Lucy. And then the next day we had her Awana leader over who shares the same birthday date with her and enjoyed dinner with her.
Okay now for a word about my sis, she is so gracious, loving, compassionate, friendly, loves the outdoors and getting her hands[and clothes ;] dirty, smart and wants to be a missionary. She loves God and loves telling other people about Him. She loves making handmade things and giving gifts. When she hears someone is sick, she sends them a colorful, bright and cheery card or gift. Like me, she loves music and good ole' tv shows and movies,  I Love Lucy, LHOP, Andy Griffith, Anne of Green Gables etc. Right now we are watching Little House on the Prairie from the very beginning, at nights :)  When she gets older, I look forward to introducing her to Dr. Quinn, The Waltons and more!
She is an example of grace and love in action. I pray I never take her for granted.

On May 7th, my dear friend, Sarahlynn celebrated her birthday! Gosh, I really love this lady. We have been friends since...well forever! Even though she lives far away now, she is one of my closest friends and one of the most beautiful souls I know. She has been an amazing blessing in my life and has encouraged and inspired me so much and continues to. She loves Christ with her whole heart and strives to glorify and serve Him. She loves her family so much and it shows. She is a faithful friend and is always there. She is hil.ari.ous. Put us two together and you have a crazy fun duo! ;]  Ah, I miss her. but I know we are both where we are supposed to be :) Love you Sarahlynn!♥

Aaaand on May 8th is was Mother's Day! My mom. Is amazing. the best mom for me. always there for me. funny. loving. caring. a great comfort. wise. strong. forgiving. has a beautiful heart for Christ. a lovely example of a wife and mother. a wonderful friend. of course she isn't perfect, we all have our flaws but we serve a forgiving and merciful Lord! Without our mom's we wouldn't be here, literally. [quote by Lauren Barlow] :)

Day 4- A favorite band

There are many bands that I really like but there are a few that I love. Switchfoot is one of them.

this group is truly amazing. they have such beautiful hearts and music.

their lyrics speak right to my heart. each song centers around Christ.

they have slower and thoughtful songs then upbeat and fun ones. 

the guys are awesome. i have an honest respect and admiration for them.

they have a funky fabulous true style

i saw them in concert a few months ago and they were amazing to say the least. i would give a lot to see them again.
