2 year blogiversary. a month later.

yep i'm would be the blogger girl who totally forgot about her year blogiversary. it was on november 7th. I thought about it a week or so before then but it came and went and now its december 7th. well better a month later then never right? ;)
I've been blogging for 2 years. (you can read my very first post here.its not much though ;)
here are some scattered thoughts about blogging. I have a terrible headache right now.

when it comes down to it, i LOVE blogging. I love the fact that there is a place where I can share my thoughts and ideas. write about random things. without pressure to  i love that its a place where you meet new people even from different parts of the country. you build friendships. and discover you are not the only one who loves soundtracks and such. blogging is something that can grow with you and be oh so special. I really love how i'll blog about something random and think "i'm sure no one else feels like i do about such and such" or "no one will comment on this". yeah right. those random fun posts are usually the most popular.You get encouragement and care from people you may haven't even met in real life. Also i think that blogging helps me get my thoughts organized and define what i believe or what i really think.
Blogging is an amazing thing and i'm so glad that I discovered it when i did! God has blessed me SO much through this place. thank you so much to YOU my friends for reading my blog. you are awesome.

the farmer's market topped off with polka dots

this was one of my favorite parts of our trip! It was a small little farmer's market and the fruit and vegetable colors were vibrant and I really like how the pictures came out. :)

2 bithdays and mother's day! {late}

I know I'm late posting about these events but I did celebrate them but I didn't get around to posting about them. well I'm here now, posting about the 2 birthdays and mother's day. its all good :)

On April 27th my not so little sister turned 9 years old! We celebrated her birthday with cherry delight pie and I Love Lucy. And then the next day we had her Awana leader over who shares the same birthday date with her and enjoyed dinner with her.
Okay now for a word about my sis, she is so gracious, loving, compassionate, friendly, loves the outdoors and getting her hands[and clothes ;] dirty, smart and wants to be a missionary. She loves God and loves telling other people about Him. She loves making handmade things and giving gifts. When she hears someone is sick, she sends them a colorful, bright and cheery card or gift. Like me, she loves music and good ole' tv shows and movies,  I Love Lucy, LHOP, Andy Griffith, Anne of Green Gables etc. Right now we are watching Little House on the Prairie from the very beginning, at nights :)  When she gets older, I look forward to introducing her to Dr. Quinn, The Waltons and more!
She is an example of grace and love in action. I pray I never take her for granted.

On May 7th, my dear friend, Sarahlynn celebrated her birthday! Gosh, I really love this lady. We have been friends since...well forever! Even though she lives far away now, she is one of my closest friends and one of the most beautiful souls I know. She has been an amazing blessing in my life and has encouraged and inspired me so much and continues to. She loves Christ with her whole heart and strives to glorify and serve Him. She loves her family so much and it shows. She is a faithful friend and is always there. She is hil.ari.ous. Put us two together and you have a crazy fun duo! ;]  Ah, I miss her. but I know we are both where we are supposed to be :) Love you Sarahlynn!♥

Aaaand on May 8th is was Mother's Day! My mom. Is amazing. the best mom for me. always there for me. funny. loving. caring. a great comfort. wise. strong. forgiving. has a beautiful heart for Christ. a lovely example of a wife and mother. a wonderful friend. of course she isn't perfect, we all have our flaws but we serve a forgiving and merciful Lord! Without our mom's we wouldn't be here, literally. [quote by Lauren Barlow] :)

hey all!! Happy April! I was boring and didn't do anything for April Fool's, I don't care for it anywho. Can't believe its already April, time flies. Hope you all are having a great weekend :) What do you think of my new look?? Sky and I (ha that rhymes! ;) are working on the design and I was getting really tired of my last look so I thought I'd make a temporary design :] I like it...I wanted it simple yet unique. I might tweak it a little bit but it wouldn't be too drastic =)

i'm so much in need of pep music I'm listening to High School Musical {a.k.a I'm back}

I was working on this post yesterday but then I had to go and when I came back to it, I couldn't find the draft! I thought it was lost but I found it today :) so most of this is from yesterday...

hey all!! I think I'm ready to dive into the whole blogging thing again! :) and yes the post title is true. as I type I'm listening to Getcha Head in the Game. I was tired of Air1, Klove and all those songs and I needed something different. I don't care for the HSM movies but some of the songs are perfect for a im-tired-of-all-those-christian-songs-i've-listened-to-a-hundred-times-i-need-something-peppy-and-corny times ;) Not that I don't like Christian music but I need some variety :]

Ok well, lets catch up on what's been happening in my life :) hope I don't bore you with this part of the post!

My mom is in India. its the first time she's been out of the country or been on a plane longer than 2 hours but she's been able to email and few times and she is doing really well :) I'm so excited that God is using her to show His love and mercy to the people of India! She is so very dear to me so it was kinda hard "letting" her go but I have such a God given peace about it all. I can't wait to see pictures and hear all about her adventure :]


I've had some really fun times with some sweet friends over the past few weeks. I'm so blessed to have such fun and amazing friends. I've gotten to hang out with some of them, chatting, playing games, eating and watching movies(they have become my current favorites ;) I had heard of all these movies that a few years old that are so good and and I felt like i was in the dark for not knowing what they were talking about. So, my friend(s)  introduced me to these movie. We swooned, laughed and {almost} cried. ;]

heard so much about this movie and i really liked it. great mix of romance, comedy and adventure :]

I'd seen this before but i watched it anyway. we laughed a lot during this one :)

we haven't finished this one yet but I'm really liking it so far!

I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred every other day and trying my best to eat gluten free.

its not easy people! mannn....I've really wanted to skip a day or eat ____ that's not gluten free but when I have I've suffered :/ So, I'm taking a hint and pushing myself to work every other day despite my tiredness or laziness and its paying off! I'm seeing results from working out and I'm loving it ;] I just started Level 2 of the 30DS and lemme say, you don't know what true working out is and the feeling like your body is on fire until you've done Jillian Michael's! I'm serious, I felt like I was gonna die. And I even stopped lots of times and took breaks for a a min or 2, and a few times I just skipped the exercise. And I still felt like i was dying. Jillian even said close to  the end of the workout "I want you to feel like you are going to die." yep, I've got that down. But its so worth it. I feel energized and happy when I'm done. Even more so when I stick to eating gluten free which is difficult but I know its the best thing for me. Gluten is not worth being sick in the bathroom for an hour and having a horrible headache! :) I've also had some of my dear friends keep me accountable for doing it. That has really motivated me, knowing that they are praying for me and are gonna ask if I've done it! ;) If you are having trouble staying consistent with your exercising/eating healthy/ bible reading etc. ask your friends for prayer and accountability! :)

I know I keep saying my blog design is coming soon and its not coming :/ Sky and I are working on it :) You guys have been so patient! It should be here by the end of the month! around when spring should be here!! :) I'm so ready for warm weather! oh and along with the new look I'm gonna do a "series" of posts about who I am and what I believe. I've gotten lots of new followers so I thought it would be nice to go over that again :)

Hmm.. I think that's about it. I have lots of ideas for posts and I'm gonna start working on them :] I'm off to workout!

forever 21, eyes, sick and birthday :)

Ah I just got back from an fabulous afternoon with my lovely and amazing friend! She took me out to lunch for my birthday and then we walked around and shopped :) ok, I'd been hearing so much about Forever 21 (great things!) and I'd never been there but I was curious to see why it was popular. well... I found out today! And now I know why everyone loves it. it has super cute and stylish stuff for really reasonable prices! :) 

I got this lovely necklace!  

My friend and I both got the same cardigan :] its long and has pockets, its so cute! I'll post a picture of it later :) I'm need of spring/summer clothes so I'm always excited when I find clothes that are reasonably priced, I like and that look good on me ;] I had such a great time with my friend! love her♥

Onto the 28 day challenge which is ending tomorrow! I think its kinda cool because its also my bday ;) I have had lots of fun with this :) 

Day 27: A physical feature you love-

A lot of people are picking the same feature but its such a good one! so I couldn't resist ;) 

eyes. 

   its usually the first thing that I recognize about a person

they convey a lot about what a person is feeling

nervous 
relaxed 
etc...

The creator of eyes had to be someone so great and powerful. No man could ever create something so beautiful and lovely. Only God :) 

but I do have some sad news... my whole family is sick. We've been healthy all winter and then yesterday we got sore throats and today all 5 of us have headaches, sore throats and stopped up sinuses :( Needless to say its gonna be an interesting week... praying we all get better soon! 

Can tomorrow really be my birthday?? seriously, time is just flying by! Wow, well be looking for a post tomorrow answering these question; Day 28: Hopes, Dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days which is a great question for a birthday :) 
oh and real quick I want to explain my birthday just a bit, its a lil' confusing! 

• I was born on February 29 
• the 29th comes once every 4 years 
• so I celebrate on the 28th and March 1st 
• fun fact: my "real" birthday lands in the year of the Election AND the summer Olympics :] 
• I'm not saying my age but I'm between 14-18 ;)  
• I love being a leap year baby :] its so fun and unique!

♥A childhood memory and one of the best 2 weeks of my life♥

Day 26: A childhood memory-

hmm....I'll have to use my brain for this one. a lot and it hurts ;) heehee ;] Ok, I have one. SarahLynn and I have been friends since like we were 1 and we used to live in the same state. I remember Sarahlynn, her older brother and I playing together all the time. We got along really well (most of the time) and I just remembering having SO much fun. Laughing, yelling, running, screaming, talking, crying and all those other things that little kids do ;) Now, they live in another state but we have remained close and when we get together now, as teenagers we still have a BLAST together. We have another friend who is our age and we've known him and his family since we were little also, and put us together and you have an crazy bunch of kids! :) We went camping once and THAT is a awesome time I will never forget! When ever I remember us spending time together, I think of tons of laughter and craziness! ahh good times :) 


ok, onto a post that I wrote a while ago but never published. *drum roll please* ....

The incredibly awesome 2 weeks I spent with Sarahlynn!!

Sarahlynn  came for a visit back in the beginning of December. Our two families are close and are more like family then friends :) {we call each others parents "aunt" and "uncle" :) }She fits right into our family and is like a sister to me and my siblings and a daughter to my mom and dad :) Sarahlynn lives in a different state now but we keep in touch and remain close friends. but we have seen each other at least once a year for the past few years and I was SOOO stoked when she was able to come for 2 weeks! She was willing to come my way because of my health and I wouldn't want to be far away from home and feeling bad or something. that girl is a keeper! ;)  When ever we are together there is TONS of laughing and fun. needless to say, we had an absolute BLAST! We did do some school but it was so much fun doing it with a friend ;) 


Some highlights of the 2 weeks: 


- went shopping and bought some scarfs and took some craaaazzzyyy pictures! 
- went to see The Voyage of the Dawn Treader the day it came out! and we LOVED it!! 
- my family got wireless! a long awaited treat! :D Sarahlynn had lots of fun with our itouchs ;] 
- and much more! 

here's some pictures and I'll tell you more about what we did :)  (we took a lot more pictures but they show our faces so we can't post them but we did take some specifally for you all ;) i know i know we are too nice ;]

 we watched the BBC version of Emma!! it was Sarahlynn's first time watching it and she loved it! we watched it like 3 more times ;) 

its a tradition to play UNO when we are together....

we took the mattresses off of my sister's and I's bed and put them on the floor. we had tons of pillows and blankets! :)

ate some good candy that really wasn't for us... oops
