[i'm going to try to not focus on the fact that i feel like i'm seriously getting sick and focus on the sweetness thats been going on]
first its leap year. and its my birthday. my "real" one! haha ;) another year to live :)
2nd. THIS NEW AVENGERS TRAILER THAT CAME OUT TODAY. like for real. i think i passed out from awesomeness. to say i can't wait is an understatement. the 29th is a good day.
happy birthday wishes from my lovely friends via twitter, email and texting and a visit from a friend who we haven't seen in too long.
great gifts that i am enjoying. for example...my new Kindle Fire. loving it. it was a total unexpected gift.
and i've been able to watch Robin Hood episodes on it for free..yeah pretty sweet ;)
this 66 degree partly cloudy weather we are having. so gorgeous. might even go for a run later. *maybe*

colorful flowers from my mom and dad
the sweetness that i get to live another day, another year. for Christ. to love and serve him. to know Him better. To love my family and friends more. to take care of myself better. to enjoy the little things. i will have bad days. but HE will give me the strength to get through.
here's some inspiration-

saturday randoms {well now its sunday}
I didn't finish this post on saturday, SO. just pretend its saturday when you're reading this and we'll be good.
obviously i didn't do tumblr Thursday or Friday favorites. fail. that was due to the fact that i wasn't feeling well{big surprise i know} and that if i did feel well i worked on school and then if i did get to blog i wanted to post about a certain song AND our Internet and phone went out yesterday around 3pm. thankfully it was fixed earlier this am around 9am. i didn't realize just how much i use the Internet! but i/we survived. mom mentioned to dad that we felt a bit Amish though ;) hehe.
anywho, here I am. i'm not going to catch up on tumblr thursday or friday favorites though. this post is going to be some random thoughts of mine ;)
First of all, I'm loving this song. loving.
--Have you all heard of/been to the blog Boho Baby Bump? no you haven't? well get over there right now. Its a lovely blog by a beautiful momma who loves her sweet family and Jesus, has fabulous taste in style and has such an inspiring outlook and love on life. On wednesday she posted a super sweet video announcing the news that she is pregnant! {read this post and you'll see why this pregnancy is extra special.} I'm SO excited for them! :)
--I'm showing signs of the fact that I'm watching lots of Monk and Numb3rs episodes. Like the other day my mom said something about Asia maps and i thought she said "Agent Eppes is coming." yeahh and then my mom and I are just taking on some of Monk's traits. such as opening public doors with our sleeves randomly or straightening out signs{my mom was walking by a counter at the library and she fixed a crooked display.} its NOT obsessive and most of the time we do it out of fun but sometimes we do things that Monk would do without even thinking.
--a tweet from Thursday: confession-- i just drooled on my algebra paper. i was looking at pictures of Thor on tumblr. mmhm. ~i have no words.

-- When did it become FEBRUARY? really. my birthday is at the end of this month. and i actually get a real birthday! and i ordered my dad a birthday gift and i *may* of ordered a birthday gift from me to me also ;)
--please read this post- "How does a bar of soap rescue a Child?" Its about the Superbowl and human trafficking. the numbers and statistics are shocking and terrible. we must pray and help raise awareness. {read my post about this from last year here}
i hope you all are having a great weekend!
much love♥

I love the way You love like no other
It's got nothing to do with anything that I do
Time and time again You forgive me
So this time I choose to stay here with You
It's got nothing to do with anything that I do
Time and time again You forgive me
So this time I choose to stay here with You
i desire to be able to not get over Jesus.

Praying for the Persecuted
Our pastor gave a really good sermon this morning about persecution. here are some points that stood out to me.
*Persecution is a Sobering Reality- Indeed all those who desire to live a godly life in Christ will be persecuted
*Persecuting is a Purifying Tool- don't be surprise at the fiery trial when it comes upon you. trials will make us stronger.
"But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." - 1 Peter 3:14
Being counted worthy to suffer for the name of the Lord.
What Shall We Do?
*Pray like the early church. stand beside those who are being tortured for Christ.
*Examine ourselves--are we ready for persecution?
There are many things worse than dying for Christ.
1 Hear my prayer, LORD;
let my cry for help come to you.
2 Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly.
let my cry for help come to you.
2 Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly.
3 For my days vanish like smoke;
my bones burn like glowing embers.
4 My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
I forget to eat my food.
5 In my distress I groan aloud
and am reduced to skin and bones.
6 I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.
7 I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof.
8 All day long my enemies taunt me;
those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
9 For I eat ashes as my food
and mingle my drink with tears
10 because of your great wrath,
for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;
I wither away like grass.
my bones burn like glowing embers.
4 My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
I forget to eat my food.
5 In my distress I groan aloud
and am reduced to skin and bones.
6 I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.
7 I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof.
8 All day long my enemies taunt me;
those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
9 For I eat ashes as my food
and mingle my drink with tears
10 because of your great wrath,
for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;
I wither away like grass.
12 But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever;
your renown endures through all generations.
13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
for it is time to show favor to her;
the appointed time has come.
14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
her very dust moves them to pity.
15 The nations will fear the name of the LORD,
all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
16 For the LORD will rebuild Zion
and appear in his glory.
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
he will not despise their plea.
your renown endures through all generations.
13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
for it is time to show favor to her;
the appointed time has come.
14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
her very dust moves them to pity.
15 The nations will fear the name of the LORD,
all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
16 For the LORD will rebuild Zion
and appear in his glory.
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
he will not despise their plea.
18 Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
19 “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the LORD.
that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
19 “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the LORD.
23 In the course of my life[b] he broke my strength;
he cut short my days.
24 So I said:
“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you.”
he cut short my days.
24 So I said:
“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you.”
Psalm 102

its friday!! we made it! :]
hey friends! its friday! that means i've made it through another week and if you are reading this, you have too! hope you are having a good one :)
man, this past week was a busy one. it feels like I haven't been home all week. babysitting monday, tuesday, wednesday and yesterday[ thursday]. soccer on monday, [ soccer pictures on tuesday], wednesday and thursday. a lot of coming and going. and I've had a bad headache all week and cannot get rid of it. i've tried most everything. and my back is not loving soccer right now ;/ wednesday's soccer practice was not a pretty sight[ like hardly being able to walk] . so i'm learning to get a balance between pushing myself but not killing my back. other than my back, soccer is going good! my coaches and teammates have been really encouraging, understanding and kind through all my back issues. so thankful! Opening Day[all the teams play their first game] is tomorrow and I'm excited! We've got the makings of a strong and determined team :)
Between babysitting, soccer and my health, this week has been draining and busy. a lot of running here, there and yonder. late nights and early mornings. lots of prayers for strength and patience. it was good but I'm so glad I don't have anything to do today outside of the house :) I did some cleaning{ the week was very hard on my room. it was mess.y.} this am and now my sibs and i are just chilling :)
as i think about the past week here are some things that I'm thankful for:

*I don't know about where you live but the past 2 days, the weather has been fabulous! like in the 70s/80s, NOT humid and breezy! Its like the weather we should of had in the spring. you can actually go outside and not feel like you're going to melt. I hope it stays around for a while :)
*Young Love has been on repeat, seriously since I got it. a few times at soccer practice , I'd start randomly singing 'Ships in the Night' or 'Count on Me' or 'Down' in my head ;D oh and i've discovered that listening to 'Ships in the Night' at night is epic. because I know you've been wanting to know that. ;] My 6 year old brother's favorite song is 'Hey Mama' and my little sister's favorite is 'She Got the Honey'. so.cute. :)
*tweeting with my dear friends. those girls are such a blessing. they are such an encouragement on those hard days. Who knew that twitter could bring such special people into my life!
* last but not least, lovely light and raindrops which made for these kinds of photos that i'm loving-
What are some little things that YOU are thankful for this friday?! :)
much love♥

give me the faith to believe in these hard times.
[i'm not writing this to get sympathy or "its gonna be ok"'s. this is my blog, my life journal, a place to share my real life and real life feelings and so i am.]
im struggling. we had a long stressful week and that has taken a toll on me[the reason why i haven't been blogging]. physically, emotionally and mentally, i have no energy. even sleep isn't cutting it. it feels like there's nothing left in me. i'm shot. its going to take me a few days of rest and no stress to get back to "normal" but i'm not sure what normal is anymore.
these songs have been on repeat today:
hope ya'll are having a good weekend :)

phew...what a night!
hey all!! Well it seems like most everywhere, there are severe storms and tornadoes coming through. well we had a really bad storm, possible of producing a tornado last night. our town got the worst of everyone around us. the wind was really bad and the rain. for a while, it looked like a hurricane. oh and HAIL. golf ball sized. yeah, huge. There's hail and wind damage for us and others. There hasn't been any injuries or deaths from it, I don't think. The storm lasted about an hour and half and there was no tornado, thank the Lord! We got out of the bathroom and ventured outside to see the hail, it was pretty neat :) most everyone on the street was outside taking pictures and seeing it! My dad was about 2 hours away in other city, in a training and he got home after the storm had passed. thankfully he didn't get any bad weather! Then....the power went out. for about 2 hours. Candles were light and my whole family and I camped out in the living room for the night. We were all a little bit unsettled and it took a while to get comfortable and to sleep. I turned on Audrey Assad and that was so relaxing :) anyway, it sure was an eventful night! now its overcast and a little dark. There are supposed to be more storms coming :/ But I don't think they are going to be super bad. we will see. I'm so thankful to God for keeping us and everyone else around us safe and protected!
here are some photos from the day/night :)
We are supposed to have some rain showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow but nothing too severe.
I really can't imagine what the people of Joplin and the other places that have been destroyed by tornadoes and such, are going through. how scary. I'm definitely praying for them and I know that He will provide for their needs. I pray for comfort and peace for them. There is hope in Christ and He will never leave us nor forsake us. I'm praising the Lord that He has kept us safe! Please keep Missouri, Oklahoma and the other places in your prayers.
much love♥♥

2 bithdays and mother's day! {late}
I know I'm late posting about these events but I did celebrate them but I didn't get around to posting about them. well I'm here now, posting about the 2 birthdays and mother's day. its all good :)
On April 27th my not so little sister turned 9 years old! We celebrated her birthday with cherry delight pie and I Love Lucy. And then the next day we had her Awana leader over who shares the same birthday date with her and enjoyed dinner with her.
Okay now for a word about my sis, she is so gracious, loving, compassionate, friendly, loves the outdoors and getting her hands[and clothes ;] dirty, smart and wants to be a missionary. She loves God and loves telling other people about Him. She loves making handmade things and giving gifts. When she hears someone is sick, she sends them a colorful, bright and cheery card or gift. Like me, she loves music and good ole' tv shows and movies, I Love Lucy, LHOP, Andy Griffith, Anne of Green Gables etc. Right now we are watching Little House on the Prairie from the very beginning, at nights :) When she gets older, I look forward to introducing her to Dr. Quinn, The Waltons and more!
She is an example of grace and love in action. I pray I never take her for granted.
♥I love you!♥
On May 7th, my dear friend, Sarahlynn celebrated her birthday! Gosh, I really love this lady. We have been friends since...well forever! Even though she lives far away now, she is one of my closest friends and one of the most beautiful souls I know. She has been an amazing blessing in my life and has encouraged and inspired me so much and continues to. She loves Christ with her whole heart and strives to glorify and serve Him. She loves her family so much and it shows. She is a faithful friend and is always there. She is hil.ari.ous. Put us two together and you have a crazy fun duo! ;] Ah, I miss her. but I know we are both where we are supposed to be :) Love you Sarahlynn!♥
Aaaand on May 8th is was Mother's Day! My mom. Is amazing. the best mom for me. always there for me. funny. loving. caring. a great comfort. wise. strong. forgiving. has a beautiful heart for Christ. a lovely example of a wife and mother. a wonderful friend. of course she isn't perfect, we all have our flaws but we serve a forgiving and merciful Lord! Without our mom's we wouldn't be here, literally. [quote by Lauren Barlow] :)
thank you mom for everything! I love you to the moon and back!
And a huge thank you to all my other mom figures in my life. Thank you for being there for me and for caring about what kind of lady I am and will become :)
I am truly blessed by my sister, friend and mom♥
much love,

CrAzY lOvE
(it was a bit hard to get all my thoughts together, so I apologize if the post it a little jumbled :/ )
I'm challenging myself to show some Crazy Love and I wanted to share it with y'all and Valentine's Day is a perfect time :]
So... Hawk Nelson came out with this awesome song called Crazy Love. I. love.it. I bought it the day it released. And its so thought provoking and has a special message to me. take a listen to it if you haven't heard it and then move on ;) its a funky unique music video, I laughed out loud when I first watched it!
How neat are those lyrics??
I've been convicted about this topic- crazy love. I feel God is using this song and movement to get me out of my comfort zone a bit and serve and glorify HIM by showing crazy love.
We, as Christians are called to love others (especially non Christians). with a special crazy love. To show mercy and grace to others. As a church and individually. God loves us unconditionally, why can't we show some crazy love to others?! I know, personally, I have a particular person that I have a hard to time loving. Because they are have a completely different personality and honestly I really don't have a desire to show them love. let's be honest.... there are some people in our lives that aggravate us so bad and annoy us, we don't like those people and don't want to get to know them. We can think of hundreds of reasons why they don't deserve love. Sometimes I just think "oh someone else can show them love" or "I don't have time". but I don't have any excuses for not showing that person love. I need to love them and show them grace. This is world may look at us like we're out of our minds when we love our enemies but we know we are glorifying a mighty God :)
Love one another with brotherly affection. outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Romans 12:10 & 11
So I thought that around Valentine's Day is a great time to start the challenge! to show crazy love and grace to that particular person and others. and when people ask why we are doing it, we can say because of God's great love and mercy to us :) I want to be so in love with Christ that I can show this world crazy love! will you join me?? :]

They say it sounds insane
We say that we've been changed
By the power of
Crazy Love
This world, it looks at us
Like we're ridiculous
Baby, it's all because
Of Crazy Love

something is going on right here in the USA and it breaks my heart....
Human Trafficking and Sex Slavery. When I first heard of it, I thought it only happened in other countries, Africa, Mexico, India etc. But its not. Its right here in the United States, the land of the"free". 100,000 to 300,000 people exploited in America every year. Its the fastest growing illegal trade. Its a horrid nightmare that is reality and life for the enslaved women and children. that's right-children. I have 2 younger siblings, 5 y.o. brother and 8 y.o. sister and my heart breaks just thinking about what precious little kids are forced to do. These people are crying out for help and we need to take a stand. We can help to stop it.
Did you know that we can use the Superbowl has a platform to increase awareness of trafficking and slavery and decrease the demand for it?? well neither did I until I watched this video by Natalie Grant and Tenth Avenue North. please take a few mins and watch it. it will open up your eyes and who knows, maybe God will use you to help stop it :)

Happy Anniversary Dad and Mom!
My parent's 16th wedding anniversary is today!
They work hard to give us so much and I will cherish,thank God for them and love them forever.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
I love you!
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."Ephesians 4:2 New International Version
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
1 Peter 4:8 NIV
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13 NIV
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."
Ephesians 5:25 NIV
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
1 Cor. 13:4-8 NIV
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

{2011, a new year}
wait, what?! 2010 is almost over?! I can hardly believe but I'm looking forward to what 2011 will bring. 2010 was a tough year for me because of my health but I've also grown a lot. I've discovered how true that quote "when we are at our weakest God is strongest ( or something like that!) is. God allowed me to become so weak, physically and emotionally, so that I had to rely on Him for strength. Looking back, I only see how God has brought me through this year and He gave me love to show to others. There were days when I just stayed in bed because I felt so bad and I thought I wouldn't survive another day. I cried out to Him for any glimpse of hope or strength. He answered me with love,hope and joy! He said you can survive with my strength I learned that there is no darkness in Christ. I am a new creation in Him. That gave me so much hope and I still have some days when I don't want to get out of bed but He gives me strength to keep going. Knowing that He is in control and He is all powerful gives me joy. God has each of us right where we wants us to be, even when we don't understand why. He loves you and me and He has a special plan for each of us. In Him there is hope, love,joy and strength.
I've also discovered how much I love my friends! God has brought some really awesome people into my life to love. My friends are the sunshine on those gray days, they pray for me, encourage and make me laugh. I'm so blessed to go through life with them :)
My 2010 "word" was love (read the post here) I've struggled with loving some certain people in my life because they are so different from me. but its those people that I need to love. God has brought them into my life for a reason. I heard this in my youth group a while ago, you don't have to be best friends with everyone and if you only love them because they were created in God's image then so be it. I do "love" them because God has created them but I want to love them for more than that. It goes against ,y sin nature but it doesn't go against God's will. I pray that God would give me love to give to others, to the people that I don't really "like". That is a testimony of Christ. I strive to be a testimony of Christ's love.
I'm excited to see what God has in store for me and you in 2011!
Hope you have a great night with your family and friends!

what's been happening in my life: the good and the bad
*warning* this is a very long post but I have a lot of things to share with y'all
Wow. I'm sitting here thinking about all the things that has happened in the past few days. Where to start?? OK well I'll start with Christmas :) I hope you all had a great Christmas! I did :)
We went to go visit my dads family on Christmas eve and we got home late like midnight so I didn't get into bed until around probably 1:30 or 2. My 8 year old sister got up at 4 am!! That's a record in our house! But mom made her go to bed ;) around 9:30ish everyone was awake. I spent a few minutes by myself ( I was inspired by Annie to take a few minutes and read the bible) reading the Christmas account in Luke and then prayed. Then we all gathered in the living room and dad read a bible passage and the we opened presents! :)
Here's what I got:

I got this necklace from my parents! i had pointed it out to my mom one day ;)

This SUPER soft blanket! serioulsy its THE softest blanket ever! its just a little slice on heaven on earth :)

This really cute plaid shirt from my mom :) and it matches the blue vest ♥

I absolutely love vests!

I got some earrings ( i was in dire need of some) from my brother and sister :)

My dad got me some little iPod earrings! ( a girl in our homeschool group made them) they are so cute and they match the plaid shirt :)

My dad got me the movie Imagine That ( its a tradition that he tries to get me a decent movie for Christmas ;) Its a great movie! got a iTunes card, some crocheted things from my little sister, socks and lotion.

We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with some dear friends. We had Christmas dinner, watched a movie, played games and just had a really fun relaxing evening!
On Sunday afternoon we had an unexpected surprise! my dad was given tickets to the Bengals and Chargers football game and he had tried to give them away but all of the people he asked, couldn't use them. So mom said well why don't we just go?! so we did!! It was f.r.e.e.z.i.n.g. and a few snow flurries came down at one point but we had a great time! and then Bengals WON! so that was a big plus ;) we had really good seats, so I got a few good shots but our camera does not have a very good zoom but I did my best ;)
my dad and little brother walking to the stadium :)

I took this picture real quick, I was doing my best not getting run over ;) thought the clouds were so cool :)

Ok now on to the tough stuff. Some of you know that I've been dealing with headaches for a long time now. Well I'd had one for a few weeks and on Tuesday it was so bad, I didn't hardly eat anything and I was very tired. I ended up going to the ER for an IV headache treatment. That's the first time I've really gone into the hospital for something "serious". and I already have a phobia about hospitals so that just made it worse! anyway, the treatment broke the cycle of the headache and i went home without one. the dr. wanted me to have no headache for at least 24 hrs. well I woke up yesterday morning with a slight headache :/ but I am ok with that because its much better than some of headaches I have had! but the dr. wants it 100% gone. So right now I'm drinking TONS of Gatorade and water, trying to keep my body hydrated ( because dehydration is sometimes the cause of headaches) and not eating gluten ( I notice a big difference in my headaches when I'm gluten free), but if my headache doesn't go away or gets worse I will have to go the hospital for 2-3 days to have a longer IV treatment that gets rid of the headache forever for 90% of the people that get it. I really do NOT want to go the hospital but I'm afraid that my headache will not go away. We have shared the situation about my headache with some dear friends and they have been praying for me which touches my heart. We are praying that God show us His will clearly in this situation. That He would clearly take the headache away or that He would show us the right time to take me to the hospital. I am frustrated, a little afraid, and uncertain right now.but I know that God is in control and that He has a plan for me and that whatever happens to me He will be glorified and praised. its just so hard. trusting in Him and trusting that He knows what He is doing. Please pray that God's will would be done and that He would clearly show us what to do. thank you dear friends :)
2011 is almost here! I can hardly believe it! I have a few New Years Resolutions:
This song about sums up my post. Hold by Superchick. I was listening to it last night and the lyrics are the words of my heart right now.
hope you all are having a wonderful week!

2011 is almost here! I can hardly believe it! I have a few New Years Resolutions:
- I would grow in my relationship with Christ, continue to be amazed by Him and that I would show His love, grace, forgiveness, mercy and patience to others around me.
- Be diligent in school ( which is an everyday resolution ;)
- Be consistent in working out and eating gluten free. I really need to get my body in shape and I want to do it but I need lots of encouragement and diligence :)
- I would be open and willing to whatever God has planned for me in 2011 :)
